At PictureBook, I love to tell the story with images. Sometimes one image, one expression, says it all. Other times, a collection of images tells the story more keenly, more completely.

My favorite thing is photographing children. As a mom, I recognize how quickly they grow and change, and I treasure the images of my own children more and more as time goes by. Whatever the subject, I strive to create something that will touch your heart and stand the test of time - truly a treasured keepsake, a family heirloom.

I have a patient photographic style that allows the reality of the moment to define the image. I'd rather see and capture the moment than create it. I've learned that often 'less is more' and the simplest concept is often the best.

I enter each session with an open mind, aware of the client's expectations, but never knowing exactly what we'll get. Each session, like life, is like a box of chocolates. That's what makes it fun.

However, I welcome the ideas and suggestions of my clients and love the challenge of bringing to life a new creative concept. For example, a client had the idea of creating a sepia portrait of her 14-month-old son similar to a 30-year old childhood image of herself. Her plan was to frame the duo of portraits for her mom. First, the cracked and faded old image had to be restored. Then I photographed the young son, and with the help of Photoshop, manipulated the background and tonality for a striking similarity between the two. At preview time, mom had tears in her eyes. And that's what it's all about! (You can view this example in the Custom Design section under Personal Art.)

I'd like to thank you for viewing my work. I look forward to meeting you and your children.
